Digital Signage

× For documentation customized for you, please click the Help button in your Appazur Dashboard. This page may refer to the Sunnycrest High demo.

Appazur Digital Signage lets you manage the appearance and content shown on your TV screens from any computer or even from your phone. Multiple staff members can update content, and the system is designed to require minimal day-to-day maintenance once set up.

It is good practice to give multiple staff members the ability to manage content. Go to Dashboard > Staff > Add Staff and grant Administrator access for full control, or Editor access so their slides require approval before going live.

Here is an introduction to help you get started:

Refer to the following to get started with your specific media player:

Once the media player and display is set up, you should see an activation code on your display. To activate the display, refer to Add a Display.

Explore the four digital signage links in your Dashboard sidebar, or read more about the options below.

Slides

Slides are your content — photos, videos, text, web pages, and more. Each slide is shown for a configurable duration before advancing to the next.

Content types

See Slides for full details.

Per-slide options

See Slides Options for full details.

Organizing slides

By default all slides rotate across all your displays. If you have multiple displays in different locations (gym, cafeteria, front desk) you can assign slides to specific displays using Slide Collections. See Assigning Slides to Specified Displays.

Your digital signage is also a great place to promote your app:

Frame Design

The Frame Design is the screen layout around your slide content. This includes several optional panels or “zones” including the sidebar showing the time, date, day or block rotation, headline, weather, and logo, and the ticker showing scrolling messages or events along the bottom, or a banner showing fixed text.

See Digital Signage Frame Design for all settings, including:

Displays

The Displays page is for adding and monitoring your physical screens.

Do you have specific slides to show at the gym, cafeteria, front desk, etc.? Refer to Assigning Slides to Specified Displays.

Add a Display

First, see Media Player Setup above.

Once the media player is running, you should see an activation code on the screen. On the Displays page, click Add, enter the activation code, and click Save.

After a few seconds the display should start showing your slides (or a “No Slides Available” screen).

Monitoring Displays

The Displays list shows when each screen was last seen online, and lets you set an alert email so you are notified if a display unexpectedly goes offline. Please contact Support for updated instructions regarding Digital Signage Alerts.

Preview

Preview shows you what your displays will look like without needing a physical screen nearby.

The Full Screen button gives an accurate preview only if your monitor has a 16:9 aspect ratio.
