Frame Design controls the appearance and layout of your digital signage screens: the sidebar, ticker or banner, colours, clock, weather, and slide transitions. The slide content itself is managed separately under Slides.
Click any section heading in Frame Design to expand it. You can also click a zone directly in the Preview panel to jump to the relevant section.
Default template
Choose between two layouts:
Default duration
How many seconds each slide is shown before advancing to the next one. Individual slides can override this, but setting a sensible default here makes it easier. Common choices are 8–12 seconds if you show many slides, or 20–30 seconds for fewer slides.
Transitions
Controls which animation style plays when advancing from one slide to the next. Leave blank to use Fade (the default) for a calm, consistent look, such as you might show in a large room. Or select one or more transitions to customize — for example, select Zoom for a more animated look, or a set like Wipe Left, Wipe Right, Push Left, Push Right for a lively mix, which you might choose for a hallway. If multiple transitions are selected, one is picked at random for each slide change.
Selecting No transition (alone) snaps immediately between slides with no animation.
Transition Duration (ms)
Total animation time in milliseconds. Values in the range 500–2000 ms work well. Values above 3000 ms may feel slow to viewers.
Body Font
The typeface used for text in your slides (Editor slides and slide titles). This also sets the default typeface for the ticker/banner and other elements. Leave blank to use the default.
Text Color / Panel Color / Screen Background Color
All three color fields default to your organization’s App Design colors. Change them here only if you want digital signage to differ from your app’s color scheme.
Slide Background Texture / Screen Background Texture / Sidebar Background Texture
Optional image textures for the slide background, screen background, or sidebar. Leave blank for a flat color. Textures are managed under Signage > Textures.
The ticker is the scrolling band across the bottom (or top) of the screen.
Ticker source
To use the Messages ticker, also set Default template to Frame. Add messages under Dashboard > Messages > Add.
Each message has Show in App and Show on Digital Signage checkboxes. Uncheck Show on Digital Signage to hide specific messages from the ticker. Messages imported from RSS feeds show “RSS” in the Sender column.
To use the Calendar Events ticker, also set Default template to Frame. By default, events come from the same calendars shown on your app’s Calendar screen.
In the Dashboard, go to Calendars and find the calendar(s) where the For column is “Sunnycrest High School”, these are visible to all. If you use an External Calendar, events may be synced automatically from your website or other source, otherwise they can be maintained directly in the dashboard (See calendar help).
Banner
Only used when Ticker source is Banner. Enter the text to display as a stationary banner across the screen.
Ticker height
Height of the ticker as a percentage of screen height. Typical values are 5–15. Set to 0 to hide the ticker without changing the source setting.
Ticker velocity
Scroll speed as a percentage of the default speed. 100 is the default. Try 80 for slower, 120 for faster. Useful if your messages tend to be very long or very short.
Ticker limit
Maximum number of items shown in the ticker. Leave blank for the system default. Reducing this is useful if you only want the most recent few messages to appear.
Ticker days
How far back (for messages) or forward (for events) the ticker looks, in days. The default is 10 days past for messages, 15 days ahead for events.
Exclude messages from
Choose one or more message senders whose content you do not want to appear in the ticker. Useful if automated RSS feeds produce content that is not suitable for your displays.
Ticker calendar
Limit the ticker to events from a specific calendar. Leave blank to include all public calendars.
The sidebar is the vertical panel alongside your slide content. It typically shows your logo, the current time and date, weather, and optionally a block or day rotation.
Sidebar width
Width of the sidebar as a percentage of screen width. Typical values are 12–30. Set to 0 to hide the sidebar entirely. When the sidebar is hidden, slides fill the full width.
Sidebar position
Date/Time Position
Controls whether the clock and date appear above or below the other sidebar content.
Date format
Choose how the current date is displayed in the sidebar, or select Not Shown to hide it. The default is the full month name format (e.g. May 14).
Time format
Choose 12-hour or 24-hour format, with or without seconds. Select Not Shown to hide the clock entirely.
Including seconds (e.g. “12:34:56 PM”) adds a visible second-hand to the analog clock.
Clock style
Analog Clock Size
When using the Analog clock style, controls the size of the clock face as a percentage of the maximum available space.
Sidebar Font
Typeface used for the clock and date. Digital-display fonts are also available for a retro LED/LCD look.
Digital-display fonts do not automatically scale to fit the width. You may wish to set Sidebar font size to a value like 3.5.
Sidebar font size
Size of the clock/date text as a percentage of screen height. Leave blank to auto-scale to the available space. Decimal values like 3.5 are accepted.
Sidebar Background Texture
Optional texture for the sidebar background. Leave blank for a flat panel color.
Day/Block Position
Controls whether the current day number and/or block order rotation is displayed, and where:
Leave blank for the default.
Day/Block Separator
If your block calendar has entries like “Day 1: ABCD”, entering a colon here will split “Day 1” and “ABCD” into two lines.
Logo size
Size of your logo as a percentage of the maximum available space. Typical values are 70–100. Set to 0 to hide the logo.
Logo
Contact support if you wish to override the default logo with a different image for this frame design. Leave blank to use your organization’s standard logo.
Orientation
Most displays are landscape. Use Portrait if your screen is mounted vertically, or if you prefer the alternate layout.
The headline is a single line of text shown near the weather in the sidebar, summarizing either an urgent message or the next upcoming calendar event. It works the same way as the mobile app’s Headline feature.
Show Today’s Headline on Sidebar
Set to Yes to enable the headline. When enabled, it shows the most recent urgent message or the next upcoming public event — whichever is more current.
Invert headline colours
Swaps the headline’s foreground and background colors to make it stand out from the rest of the sidebar. May look cleaner with some colour combinations.
Headline font size
Size of the headline text in vmin units (percentage of the smaller screen dimension). Leave blank for the default. Decimal fractions like 3.5 are accepted.
Headline calendar
Limit the headline to events from a specific calendar. Leave blank to consider all public calendars when choosing the next upcoming event.
Hard to read on your screen? You can make the font size smaller or larger by entering a number like 2.0 or 3.0 under Headline font size. Or try Invert Headline Colours. Prefer not to show the headline? Turn it off at Show Today’s Headline on Sidebar.
Show weather on Sidebar
Set to Yes (default) to display the current conditions in the sidebar. Set to No to hide weather entirely.
Do you wish to show weather forecasts for upcoming days? If so, consider adding a dedicated Weather slide instead.
Show weather summary
When enabled, shows a one-line summary (e.g. “Partly cloudy”) in addition to the temperature.
Weather position
Invert weather colours
Swaps the weather widget’s foreground and background colors. May look cleaner with some colour combinations.
Weather font size
Size of the main weather temperature display in vmin units. Leave blank for the default.
Weather detail font size
Size of the forecast detail text (forecast days) in vmin units. Leave blank for the default.
Hard to read on your displays? You can make the font size smaller or larger by entering a number like 2.0 or 3.0. Or try Invert weather colours.
Weather location is detected automatically from your account’s address. The Latitude, Longitude, and Weather data source fields are read-only and shown for reference.
Panel padding
The gap between adjacent panels (slide area, sidebar, ticker) in vmin units. The default is a small spacing. Increasing this value adds more whitespace between zones; setting it to 0 removes all gaps. Decimal values like 0.5 are accepted.
Custom CSS
If you contact Appazur support for additional customizations, this field may be used. Leave blank unless instructed otherwise.
